PITFALLS ? Beware

1 Corinthians 8:9
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.

As children of God, we are separated unto Christ Jesus. We have the liberty to exercise our rights here on earth. It's expedient to understand that, though we have the liberty, our lifestyles is not just about us. We have become living epistles read and followed by people around us. A lot of people are encouraged by the attitude of Christ in us. In the same way, people can be discouraged by our lukewarmness towards the life of Christ in us.

It's on this premise, that God is pointing out to us to take heed(be careful) so that our liberty is not a discouragement to people we are supposed to build. The liberty to eat, dress, speak, do business, make friends or marry should be modified by Christ's standard. Those with weak conscience shouldn't be made to fall because of us. Most times we don't commit sin but someone is offended by our attitude towards food, money or relationship. Most times we don't owe people explanations, but we should not act in a way that brings question mark to our relationship with Jesus. For if we make others fall, we have fallen from grace.
We are called to build, not destroy.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your wisdom upon us. Please help us to walk in your wisdom always and be a blessing to others, in Jesus name. Amen.
